Was haltet ihr davon? Und viel wichtiger: Habt auch ihr schonmal eins dieser Produkte getestet? Oder gibt es ein Produkt, was man unbedingt mal erwähnen sollte?
Hello♥ I've thought about starting a new series in which I will give you information on hyped up beauty products. (You know, those beauty products that are basically all over the internet like the Urban Decay palettes, the Mac Paint Pots, the Boujoirs Bronzer...) Essiebutton (Klick) published a video in which she talked about some of these products.
As I haven't tried them all- now that would be amazing- I would like to ask other bloggers for their posts on these specific items and provide you guys with the links. I will also show you these bloggers' blogs :) At the end, we are all gonna have a nice list and you can just click on the name of the product in order to get an authentic review. As for my own reviews, I will try to keep them short and precise.
What do you think of this idea? And, more importantly, have you tried any of the 'famous' products or is there a product that you think is worth mentioning?
Worth The Hype #1: The Urban Decay Naked Palettes
The brand: Urban Decay is an American cosmetics company founded in 1996 (source: Wikipedia. I always find it fun to read a little bit about what's behind a brand). They say about themselves:
Urban Decay is beauty with an edge. Feminine, dangerous and fun, it appeals to women who relish their individuality and dare to express it. From our insane range of velvety Eyeshadows—including the bestselling (and often-copied) Naked Palettes—to our award-winning eye liners, budge-proof mascaras and legendary Makeup Setting Sprays, we've been shaking up the industry for over 15 yearsThere is also an interesting story behind it.
I recommend reading their commitments which include a passage on animal testing:
ANIMAL TESTING POLICY
Urban Decay is a cruelty-free brand and is committed to ending animal testing. We do not test our products on animals, nor do we allow others to test on our behalf. Additionally, we require our suppliers to certify that the raw materials used in the manufacture of our products are not tested on animals. Our Brand is certified by both PETA and The Leaping Bunny Program (CCIC) as cruelty-free.
That's good to know, isn't it?
Now onto the products.
These are the palettes I own: No. 1 and No. 3

I can't speak for no. 2 but from what I've heard, the quality is just as nice and it's just the colour range that varies.
Facts:
- Price: 54 $ (UD webside) or 45, 55 € (Douglas, Germany)
- 12 x 1.3 g product in 12 eyeshadows
- the box material of Naked 1 is soft fabric (which gets dirty easily) and that of Naked 3 is metall.
- they come with Urban Decay brushes or a primer potion.
Naked 1
You can tell that I've been loving it. In fact, I've been loving the first colour of Naked 1 the most: Virgin. Hit the paaaan ;)
Quick sidenote: Yes, the palettes will get dirty if you use them a lot. Especially Naked 1. Of course I wasn't smart enough to take a picture before using them. It's kinda ironic how Urban Decay states:
"The chocolaty velvet case is emblazoned with the word 'NAKED' in gold foil lettering. (Just wait 'til your friends see you pull this sexy thing out of your bag. Jealous!)"The velvet case really is nice and soft and all that, but it's almost impossible to clean. However, that's the only negative aspect I found.

Naked 3
Again, it's the lighter colours that I like best.

However, there is one particular colour of Naked 3 which is worth mentioning: Nooner.
It's the perfect colour for your crease.

And last but not least: A picture including both Naked 1 (left) and 3 (right)
Wort the Hype?
To my mind: YES. The quality is a-ma-zing. Don't waste your money on mono eyeshadows, go for a palette. And take this one. I own various eyeshadow palettes (Sleek, Catrice) and these UD palettes I use every day. I am not kidding, I really mean every day. I was crazy about Naked 3 when it was released, but I must say that I still prefer Naked 1. However, chosing a palette highly depends on your skin tone, your eyes etc. Spontaneously, I'd say that a pale blonde person like myself cannot go wrong with either palette. Especially Naked 3 has so many rosy shades. You can carry it everywhere and even after two years of using Naked 1, I still have a lot of product left. The best thing about it: You can creaty any kind of look. The only negative aspect I can see is that one never really uses every colour. There are shades that I simply don't like on myself or which I am too stupid to use ;) Sure they have lost exclusivity over time since nowadays everyone seems to have it, but it's a good product.
Is there a dupe?
To my mind, no, not really. Of course there are rip-offs all over the internet and some say that MUA's 'undress me too' palette can replace Naked but I have tried eyeshadows by MUA myself and I don't think they are as nice quality-wise.
Do you have a Naked Palette? Or more? How do you like it? ♥
PS: Did you notice the change of my layout? I will tell you more about who did this the next days ♥
